Rainer Storn

Having arrived in August 94 at ICSI I joined the Networks Group for a two year stay. I've worked in signal processing, ATM, DQDB as well as Network Management and did several SW projects concerning these fields. Although my attention has focused on communication SW for the last four years, I am still sort of mathematically oriented. Well, signal processing undoubtedly left it's traces on me. Hence my interests are also in all kinds of optimization algorithms, e.g. to improve the performance of networks and their components. My recent research has focused on "Differential Evolution" (DE), the MAY project as well as the Robust Audio Project and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC). Currently I'm working on the development of high speed modem algorithms.
