Camp Lucky: It Goes to Eleven

September 11–14, 2003

Cedar Lake Recreation Area, Chelsea Michigan

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Ten years of Camp Lucky was plenty, I should feel blessed that it went on so long." You're thinking, "Didn't the organizers have a baby? I guess our Lucky days are over." You're thinking, "Didn't some crazy organization sell the campsite to another crazy organization that would never rent us the facility again? I guess it had to happen." You're thinking, "It's July. I guess there's definitely no Lucky this year."

You're wrong.

Ten years of Lucky weren't enough.

This one goes to eleven.

As always, Camp Lucky is held at the Cedar Lake recreation area in Chelsea, MI (about 15 minutes west of Ann Arbor). We have cabin space for 122 (before stacking) and fully functional showers and plumbing. Giant things we have include a giant kitchen, giant fridge, giant croquet set, and, well... we'll see if the last giant thing makes it down the hill this year.

Camp runs from 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 11 through 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 14. To defray costs, we ask that you pay $40 for the weekend or $15 per person per day. Breakfast will be provided; for other meals, you’re on your own. T-shirts, if you want them, are $10 apiece. Please contact Pat with the sizes, styles and quantity you are interested in so he can figure out what to order.

You are welcome to come and go at any time during the weekend, but please note that if you become intoxicated, you will not drive home from Camp Lucky. Thanks.

Here is your map. Sorry it's not very big. Basically you go to Michigan, get on I-94, and take it to exit 157, Pierce Road. Proceed north on Pierce Road for 5-7 minutes and follow the dog signs to Cedar Lake Recreation Area. Turn left into the recreation area and continue to follow the dogs into camp. Park near the lodge, get out, and reward yourself with a hot dog!
